6" Backreamer Assembly instructions

Protector Tube Assy: Steps 1-5

Protector Tube reference part list:
Backreamer Core (D302)
Protector Tube (D310)
Snap Ring (Truarc #5100-400)
O-Ring (2-240)

STEP 1: Clean all parts before proceeding with assembly.


STEP 2: Place smaller O-ring (2-240) into groove “A” and larger O-ring (2-157) into “groove “B” [Fig 1].


STEP 3: Install Protector Tube. Notches on Tube line up with Carbides on Back Reamer [Fig 3].


STEP 4: Lock Protector Tube into place by installing the Snap Ring into groove “C” [Fig 2]. After positioning Snap Ring with snap ring pliers, tap Snap Ring with a hammer and screwdriver until it locks into the groove [Fig 4].


STEP 5: Install Fluid Nozzles, 6 places [Fig 3].
The Protector Tube is now completely installed.
