Protector Tube

STEP 1: Clean all parts before proceeding with assembly.

STEP 2: Place O-rings (4 places) into counterbores on Protector Tube [Fig 1]. O-rings will seal water passage between Protector Tube and Backeeamer Core.

STEP 3: Align Protector Tube dowel holes with fixed dowels on Backreamer Core and install Protector Tube [Fig 2].

STEP 4: Insert four 5/8” Bolts through the back of the Protector Tube and thread into Backreamer Core [Fig 3]. Torque Bolts to 210 lb-ft.

STEP 5: Install Fluid Nozzles into Backreamer Core [Fig 4] and Protector Tube [Fig 5]. Nozzles may be installed at any time during assembly.

STEP 6: Attach Pulling Eye [Fig 5] using the nut and bolt supplied.
